Tata's tactics killed him but he was as bad with Tito and Scolari as well...

Of course Dani will be better. Everyone will be better this season in a half decent playing style. But there are some things that are totally unrelated to the playing style, like accuracy of his crosses, poor positioning, no backtracking/lack of effort

It's true that Alves doesn't have the pace that used to open things up for Barca a few years ago, but he's still a good reliable right back. He can defend, if asked, and his retention is as good as any right back today. I don't know where people get the idea that his crosses are poor - is it because there's no one at the end of them?! Yes, Montoya or whoever is Alves' replacement should play more to prepare for Alves' eventual departure, but Alves is still good enough for now.
