Never believed this would happen and always though this was kinda joke or Alves mentioning Barcelona in an interview to get attention from other clubs that he is a free agent.

Lots of overreaction from people here imo. He is not signed to be a starter and will cost very little. It is not that we just signed soon 30yo Neymar for 100M on a 5 year contract with high wages.
He won't start a Clasico or any other important game without us having again a very bad streak of injuries. If you look at Dest and at how bad he is at positioning there is no better teacher than Dani Alves in how to be the perfect Barcelona RB. Dest has some talent, but looks clueless most of the time and needs guidance. All of the players that came to replace Alves struggled hard. The dressing room lacks leaders anyway. Alves brings mentality and a competitive spirit.

Even if alves surprises us and plays a good season, whats next? He is 39 and we have to search another RB. Crap signing from Xavi, very disappointed from him.

and alves's last season was pretty poor. i remember everyone on this forum was so tired of his blind mindless repetitive crossing into the box at a time we had no players who were good headers. we still dont
