Seamus Coleman? He's the only Irish player who would have a chance....maybe James McCarthy as well.

It would be a mistake not to bring Carrick.

I know, he's had a shocking year and he probably wouldn't start but what if Gerrard misses a match? Who would replace him if not Carrick? All the other midfielders, including Gerrard are all box to box (or attacking) midfielders so at least one defensive option like Carrick should be included. Class just doesn't disappear and he's still a fantastic passer...


Also, Cole should go.

This is ridiculous. Fair enough if you want to leave Cole to give younger players a chance, but then why on Earth would you take Lampard? It makes no sense. The gap between Lampard and the competition for his place is much tighter than at left back. It's not like Shaw wouldn't have had international football this season anyway with Toulon approaching. And fuck knows what will happen to that squad. It'll be decimated by the World Cup, the Championship play-offs and U19 Qualification.

I got the call from Roy and agree England team should be about the young players. I think it best I retire from England team now.

been great for england. will never understand why the media never choose to hype this guy. one of the lb's in my (short) life time, consistent and english...u'd think they'd be all over him but he only ever gets mentioned in the media for his gf (or ex now?).

wouldn't mind at all if brendan decided to take him on after his contract at chelsea expires (if it does this season).
