Well, Mbappe is certainly more talented but I think Haaland outshined him last season. So maybe they were saying it in certain context. Besides that, I feel that a lot of people like him more because of his character(myself included). It doesn't necessarily mean he is better than the turtle, but he can go a long way if he keeps that attitude. Mbappe at 24 has a lot of haters because of the way he behaves, all the soap operas regarding his contracts etc. Even many Real Madrid fans are starting to despise him.
