FC Barcelona Finances

Messi fleeced the club. He is a very immoral person. Exploited the poor management of the club and the fanbase. Quite skillfully. Could have left for 100m instead of for free. But it's much more lucrative for yourself to leave as a free agent. More money, more control.
I thought we already discussed about this topic in the past.

The main goal was to push Barto out of office, which rightfully led to a vote of no confidence.

No, he obviously liked the club also.
If he had the goal to leave the club, he would never have cried that hard. These were shock tears, as Laporta told him just before he can't continue after assuring him the whole summer he could stay. Either that or Messi is the best actor in the world.
I don't know how there can be any doubt that Messi was sure to continue until Laporta dropped the axe.

After the intervention of the Barça president, it was the turn of the club's financial director Manel del Río. In his case, he has detailed point by point how the entity's coffers are: income, interventions, wage bill and a long etcetera.

1. The first message I want to highlight is that for the first time since the 2017/18 season the club will once again have a positive ordinary result. This means that for many seasons we earned less money than we spent, and to compensate for it we had to make extraordinary sales (of players or other club assets). Finally, after many months of work and applying a Viability Plan that has involved many efforts, we can now say that this season we are getting closer to this goal.

2. Furthermore, we have achieved this goal in a year that we played in Montjuïc. This is relevant because, as you well know, playing at Montjuïc has led to much less income than we earned at Spotify Camp Nou. In fact, we estimate that we stop earning around €100 million each season by playing outside our stadium. However, in this context that is more difficult than would be usual, we have achieved this ordinary result that I mentioned.

3. And how have we achieved that goal? Well, mainly through the reduction of almost €180 million annually from the club's sports payroll. Soon it is said. We can say that this season we will end up with a wage bill close to 500 million euros, which represents a very significant reduction and allows the club to maintain this positive result on a day-to-day basis. As you know, we had a series of inherited contracts with very high amounts, which has meant that the rebalancing of this wage bill could not be done overnight. Now we can finally say that we have complied with all the signed agreements, as it could not be otherwise, and at the same time we have managed to recover more balanced and comparable wage bill amounts with our competitors.

4. In terms of income, although we have not yet finished the season and I will not be able to give you definitive data until the Assembly next fall, I can anticipate that the club will be in line with compliance with the income foreseen in the 2023-24 budget. . Although it is true that we will end up with lower income from the stadium – as I told you before, the impacts of playing in Montjuïc have been higher than we anticipated – the Club has been able to compensate for this drop with the improvement of other items, such as the sale of merchandising through our BLM society.

5. Regarding extraordinary operations, you know that we brought to the Members' Assembly the approval of the sales of a percentage of the television rights and the sale of a minority part of the new audiovisual content business. The club continues to work on alternatives and options that can maximize the Club's income without ever losing its ownership. Sometimes you need a travel companion who is an expert on that particular topic to help you grow at a pace you couldn't achieve alone. In any case, and as we have always done, any change or new project that may arise will be brought to the Assembly to explain it to the members and bring it to approval, if they so consider it.

6. Finally, let me explain that the club also continues to work tirelessly to improve income in future years. On the one hand, the works on the new Spotify Camp Nou will lead us to a new stadium that will significantly increase match revenue once it opens at maximum capacity. The new Museum, the new rooms or the improvement of the capacity and conditions of the stadium will allow us to repay the requested debt and will allow us to be able to match ourselves with some of our rivals who already enjoy brand new facilities today. On the other hand, the club is also immersed in improving current sponsorship contracts, with the aim of always remaining among the best paid in the world, and continues its growth in lines such as merchandising, which, as I mentioned previously, maintains a of upward growth that puts it at historical billing records.

That is a great news. Hope they don't overspend on mediocre again and we calm about our sporting situation.

I don't know who you have that list from, but I can already tell after a few seconds that this list is absolutely shit.

- Barca pays Felix around 3-4m, after LaLiga valued his salary that high. They only wanted to pay him €400.000, but if LaLiga writes €4m in their books it doesn't matter for ffp. So Barca pays him that amount.
- Gavi never earns more than ter Stegen with his first real contract
- Fati's extension was similiar to other players in his age for around €6m
- Cubarsi €4m after he was just promoted a few months ago with a 3y contract for minors?
- Cancelo €12m?
- That isn't Frenkie's wage per year, but the money the club ows him from last seasons. A very stupid way to agitate people against him.
- Pretty sure Pedri's wage is bullshit too. Barca extended him to around the same level as Fati and later Gavi. €6m

And I'm too lazy to google the rest.
