Gareth Bale

Bale has won nothing for club and country nor proven anything at the highest level apart from a couple of good performances against top teams in the PL.

Ronaldo, when 1 year younger than Bale is right now, already won everything there was to win in England and scored in a CL-final that he and his team, Man Utd, later won. All while being the best and most important player for his team. Not to mention that he also won the Ballon d'Or and scored 42 goals in a season when only 23 years old during the 2007-2008 season.

Bale wil never reach the level of Ronaldo.

Those sort of arguments are very unfair though. Bale plays for a team that can't win anything outside of a domestic cup competition or maybe a Europa league.

Your bias against british players is truly outstanding.

1) Bale plays for Wales he'll never do anything internationally
2) Bale plays for Spurs the 5th best team in England. Thus he'll never win the league with them just perhaps the odd trophy now and again.
3) Ronaldo played for the best team in europe and had top class players around him to give him the ball in areas where he can do the most damage. With Man U playing possession based football against shite teams and counter attacking football against excellent teams that gave Ronaldo the best opportunities to do his thing.
4) No doubts if Man U bought Bale on July 1st he'd be their most important player.
5) Around better players Bale would improve because he is constantly playing with better players thus his game can only improve.

Seems like you can't understand that.

So my point stands. At the moment no. But if Bale moves to a club with better players then he can be. But that window of opportunity is closing all the time imo.

Come on. Ronaldo is far more gifted technically than bale. He can use both feet. He is a far better finisher.

He has shown nothing at the highest level yet to even compare him with Ronaldo. He has not even won a single trophy for Spurs in his 6 seasons at the club. He has had a really good season and now you are comparing him with Ronaldo of all players? Are you joking? I know we are talking about you, but still. Maybe you should refrain from commenting since you are obviously unable to be objective when anything remotely related to Man Utd is discussed.

Bale is Welsh. Not English. I have praised Rooney and Wilshere here while many others called them overrated.

Man Utd where the best team in Europe at that time mainly thanks to a certain Ronaldo who was also awarded the Ballon d'Or and the Golden Ball during his stint at Man Utd and won everything there was to win. All when already 23 years old.

"Bale will be better than Ronaldo in the future"

"Bale will fit FCB perfectly and be a perfect replacement for Villa"

Do you have more entertainment in store for us all?

Ronaldo has scored 201 goals in 199 appearances for RM during 4 seasons. I would be very surprised to see Bale score even half of that number in 4 seasons.

Also any person that has a little clue about tactics, how we (FCB) play etc. would know that Bale is a complete no-go for our club.

As already said, Ronaldo plays for far superior teams to Bale and from a younger age.. Bale proven nothing? He's carried his team and scored more last 5 minute winners than anyone else in Europe, more goals from outside the box, you name it! He also contributes more statistically than Ronaldo right now outside of pure goal scoring (and assists) but the latter down to crap team mates.

Bale also started out as a defender ffs! his learning curve has been so amazing past few seasons it looks as if he has every chance of overtaking Ronaldo or coming to the same level. Ronaldo has had the advantage of playing for Man Utd since a young age and the opportunity to train with great players 24/7, Ronaldo also only won the Ballon D'or because Messi is 2-3 years younger than him, would the Ronaldo who played for Man Utd win the Ballon D'or today? not a chance now Messi is in his prime.

Take Messi and Ronaldo out of football and put Bale right now at the peak of his powers in Bayern Munich (current best team), he wins the Ballon D'or, there's no question about it.

Entirely different situations and it always makes me laugh, people also give Bale no lenience on the fact he is only just became a forward after a few years on the wing and a previous career as a defender.

He wouldn't and that would be because he does not really contribute to the match in other ways. Plus, he has this lovely reputation of diving and that would taint his record anyways. The German media would surely hate on him because he is a selfish player and Bayern would not go for him anyways as they already have someone like him in Robben.

Because Ronaldo pops up all over the place with world class assists? You're also wrong about Bale not contributing, he has carried Spurs and Wales in several games this season from first to last minute. He can't do it every game right now but very few can, Ronaldo not being one of them either.

The competition for #1 player is far steeper now than when Ronaldo won it. No one besides Messi will win it now for the foreseeable future.

He has carried Wales/Spuds because he pops up, as I mentioned before, for one strike, which then goes in. That is quality, yes, but otherwise not really contributing to the match is not quality and which is why he is not even close to CR7 or Messi. Ronaldo works his ass off and constantly is a nuisance while Bale likes to disappear and then take advantage of the teams tiring before striking at the end of the match.

That's not the point. I also don't care about all this. The point still stands. Bale is not even close to the level of Ronaldo and there is little that tells that he will ever become a better player than CR. It's not Ronaldo's problem that Bale has played for Spurs during the last 6 seasons while not winning a single trophy and not at a club of the size of Man Utd or Real Madrid.

Messi has also played for FCB in his entire career. Should that by any means imply that his achievements are less impressive?

The thing is that Ronaldo won everything there was to win at Man Utd while being hugely influential in those achievements, aside from winning individual trophies such as the Ballon d'Or and the Golden Ball at the age of 23. Bale is 24 years old now.
Moreover at the age of 19 he was instrumental when Portugal reached the UEFA EURO 2004 final and he was important when Portugal reached the World Cup semifinals in 2006.

Bale has had a great season, as I already said, but let's wait with the comparisons and nonsense for at least a few years, shall we?

I believe that you are a Swansea fan and Welsh so you will probably be biased while I am not. Since I don't like or hate neither Ronaldo nor Bale.

There is a difference between being the vocal point in a club of Tottenham's stature where the whole system is built around you and then performing better/similarly at a absolute top club that is Man Utd week and week out and at the highest club stage (CL).

Bale needs at least another 1-2 seasons at this level to even be compared to players of Ronaldo's stature.

Anyway this is the first time I ever hear such comparisons. Must be a British/English thing.

Think you're talking about different player to me, Bale doesn't work his ass off?

He doesn't have an impact on the match as much as Ronaldo does. Or Robben/Ribery/Shaqiri - and that falls into the category of working his ass off, among others.
