Gareth Bale

That's not the point. I also don't care about all this. The point still stands. Bale is not even close to the level of Ronaldo and there is little that tells that he will ever become a better player than CR. It's not Ronaldo's problem that Bale has played for Spurs during the last 6 seasons while not winning a single trophy and not at a club of the size of Man Utd or Real Madrid.

Messi has also played for FCB in his entire career. Should that by any means imply that his achievements are less impressive?

The thing is that Ronaldo won everything there was to win at Man Utd while being hugely influential in those achievements, aside from winning individual trophies such as the Ballon d'Or and the Golden Ball at the age of 23. Bale is 24 years old now.
Moreover at the age of 19 he was instrumental when Portugal reached the UEFA EURO 2004 final and he was important when Portugal reached the World Cup semifinals in 2006.

Bale has had a great season, as I already said, but let's wait with the comparisons and nonsense for at least a few years, shall we?

I believe that you are a Swansea fan and Welsh so you will probably be biased while I am not. Since I don't like or hate neither Ronaldo nor Bale.

There is a difference between being the vocal point in a club of Tottenham's stature where the whole system is built around you and then performing better/similarly at a absolute top club that is Man Utd week and week out and at the highest club stage (CL).

Bale needs at least another 1-2 seasons at this level to even be compared to players of Ronaldo's stature.

That's your opinion and yes.. some will say that about Messi and there is the argument that Maradona is better because he carried Napoli and his Argentina team.
I am not biased and I also know for a fact I've watched Bale play at least twice as much as you and seen his progress, before this season people were overrating him a little in some parts while others underrated him. Right now, he's a beast and truly one of the world's best.

And therein lies the pickle: he needs to keep this up and prove that he is not just a one-season wonder. We shall see next season.

Do you think he is staying or is he bound for greener (read: CL-playing) pastures?

I hope he stays. Club loyalty is good for the modern game. Also if teams like Spurs and Liverpool are going to ever win titles again they need to hold on to their big players. Arsenal are a perfect example of a club that has sold any chance of success.

He will stay for at least another season and I think he should.

rumours say he will sign a new 130.000 pound-a-week contract
he will be alowed to leave if a bid near the 50m-mark is received

Yeah Levy won't let him go for cheap, he robbed United for 30 million for Berbatov. Apparently Bale has a good relationship with AVB so that could be a deciding factor.

Bale has said he wouldn't be afraid of moving to Spain but personally I don't think he will end up leaving the UK when he eventually moves on. Just depends who needs or can afford him.

People just choose to ignore the fact CR7 has been playing with World class players around him who do benefit his type of game and Bale what he has around in midfield compared to CR7's time at United and Madrid?

Come think of it. IF this guy gets a Xabi-Ozil or Scholes-Giggs to support his type of game what he can achieve.

Whoever thinks he is overrated is deluded tbh.

On the contrary, I think CRonaldo has been able to excel on his own, regardless of who is playing with. And this kind of argument is quite lame if you don't mind me saying, by the same logic one can argue Messi achieved his fame because he played with a group of world class players.

+ a brasillion

Bale's good, but he must be the single most overrated player at the moment.

Yup. 3rd best in the world over Iniesta...

Like I've said before, he's not even the best player in the PL IMO. That title belongs to RVP or Suarez, imo at least.

It really does depend on what people mean by 'best'. He's performed HEROICS for Spurs this season. In terms of one man's impact he's at least level with Suarez (though he was outshone by the Coutinho + Sturridge show post ban)
