I really hope they fire Ancelotti. Real wouldn't be a serious CL contender for years.

Unlucky? you can blame it on Carlo's lack of rotating and dumb decision to play Ramos in midfield. That's exactly what Perez might do.

Well yes, there is that, but when two of the unquestionably most important playmakers get injured for more than 2 months each you're pretty much guaranteed to lose out. January and February wouldn't be as bad if Luka and James didn't get injured. They're the ones that open up the play. The difference is night and day. Isco is good-to-great but he doesn't do what they do. He draws attention, he can take people on, but does he create openings? Meh. How do you rotate to remediate that?... Xabi fucking off to Bayern didn't help in the least since him and Luka, and Illarra or Khedira to a much lesser extent, are the only ones capable of playing the holding mid. Lucas was bought in for fairly cheap money to no avail since he's just another backroom guy and needs to go on loan. Casemiro is back to rotate and fill in the Khedira role to be the running muscle, but we still need another holding dude with an eye for a passing lane.

Ramos in midfield is nothing, but a short term fix. Playing Illarra out of the blue who's not into the system wouldn't fix the issue. Carlo did make mistakes of not playing him more vs bottom half of the table more and insisted on giving Kroos 4000 minutes, but he was the only one who knew what was needed in the winter.

Carlo ain't to blame. There is so many things that could have gone differently. What if Ronaldo scored that penalty against Valencia? What if Carvajal had a better competition than Arbeloa who's done? What if Coentrao was more reliable in training and less moody?

There is a reason why 6 months ago Lucho was the one to get a sack and Carlo had no reason to worry (prior to Modric injury)...

It would be absolutely hilarious if Pérez appointed Zidane as the manager. I can't see that end well. A manager with little experience and who has shown nothing for Real Madrid Castilla. In fact he has failed miserably this season.

Carlo might have failed to win a league title in his two years but at least he won the much sought after "Décima".

I fail to see much better managers out there than Carlo. Especially now that he will probably learn from his mistakes. If he stays next season it would surprise me a lot if he did not rotate more and if he did not strengthen the depth of the squad.

In any case Pérez has been a great source of fun for us fans since he took over in 2009. Sadly he has only got 2 years left.

Bale got abused again.

He just got insulted this time, they were also chanting "Casillas eres un topo" and "Florentino Demission", apparently it was a small group of ultras.

Firing Carlo is the dumbest thing this team could do. One unlucky season should no decide about the manager's fate.

That's just how Florentino rolls, I like Carlo, and except may be the rotations (who know how free he actually is to bench bbc&james) he's been a good coach to RM, gentlmen, the squad loves him.. they should find a way to improve on this and try to do better next season.

But the reality is Florentino will get Klopp if he can, no matter how much it'd change the style, if the players fit the system, or whatever ^^

His lack of rotations and stubbornness is unreal. Why didn't he sub in Jese last night when we were desperately looking for a goal? He used 1 out of 3 subs. He needs improve on that. I can't blame him that much since our bench is shit but still. I'm hoping that he'll stay and improve on it or go to another club.

I would never sack him either but with Perez you never know what might happen.

There's no real upgrade. Obviously they aren't getting Pep, Mourinho's been and gone, Simeone's not feasible. Heynckes has retired.

Who are they looking at beyond that? Ancelotti is the only other manager on that level. Beyond that they're looking at Klopp or a flavour of the month.

Klopp, huh. Sounds like BS. He said that he won't manage in a country where he doesn't speak the language. Money could change his mind though.

What else did they say tonight on that show? Sumlit Leo_Messi

It's Francois Gallardo. You'll find people more reliable than him in a mental asylum.

It's Francois though, so if he says RM are negotiating with Klopp, then you can almost guarantee it's the exact opposite.

That being said, would love Klopp at RM. He's so not the type to be an Uncle Flo puppet or deal too well with all the nonsense that comes with being a RM manager. The explosion will reach atomic proportions.

Seems Carlo is done at RM.

Fantastic post I saw on reddit about Real Madrid's "Eternal Managerial Cycle:"

English said:
The eternal cycle of Real Madrid:

Tyrant period (Mou, Heynckes, Capello, Camacho) The team is working, and they win titles, but the internal problems caused by the instated meritocracy (You play only if you train well) and the try to distance the sport media from the team kills the manager.

Pacificator/Happy period (Ancelotti, Del Bosque, Pellegrini) The players still fearing the return of the tyrant run and train well the first year, the team still works, mostly because the tactic work of the past tyrant. Normally this stage ends with titles in the first year (Except Pellegrini)

Barbecue period The tyrant tactics are totally forgotten and so is the fear. The incompetence of the Manager is an evidence (He was only living of the last manager work). The team has 1 or 2 different managers every season. This is the time when players and managers increase their handicap capacity (Golf handicap of course). No one runs and the team wins nothing. The media and the fans asks for a new tyrant to put order in the dressing room. Its not rare to see this stage ending with the president leaving the club.

CICLO MADRIDISTA

ETAPA CAUDILLO - ETAPA HAPPY - ETAPA ASADOR - ETAPA CAUDILLO - ETAPA HAPPY - ETAPA ASADOR -
