Wait, who is Odilio and what did he say?
Wait, who is Odilio and what did he say?
Wait, who is Odilio and what did he say?
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed that Guardiola had sought to take Neymar to Bayern prior to the forward's Barca move, and Santos vice-president Odlio Rodrigues claimed the new Bayern coach had spoken to the player's father to dissuade him from joining the Blaugrana.
Guardiola insists that was not the case.
"I don't know the vice-president of Santos but probably his intermediaries have got this very wrong, because the information they have given him is false," he said. "I would never make any comments like those he said I made."
He added: "The best players can always play together and those two are capable of playing together for many years."
There was a story that leaked that Pep had talked to Neymar's father and tried to foil our deal by stating that Tito wouldn't know how to effectively play Messi and Neymar at the same time.
What does Odilio Rodrigues gain from lying? I know Pep has his reputation on the line here, so of course he would lie claiming he never said such things.
The same could be said for any journalist with the whole "what does he gain from lying?" question.
Stop it, journalists get paid to write stories.
I really don't see what Mr. Rodrigues gains from lying here.
Publicity, perhaps? Or maybe money? I mean, md and sport lie all the time, you would they have nothing to gain from it but they still do it, so...
Seriously though, what gives him any less reason to lie than the journalist who said Thiago had already signed for United or the one who said Neymar to Madrid was a done deal almost 2 seasons ago? We don't know what they personally gain from lying but that doesn't stop it from happening, it's a double standard to assume that rumors that don't favor your argument are false yet the ones that make Pep look worse are true.
I ask again, Who are these people?, Since you seem pretty specific on their stances and their changes, You must know specifically who they, Give me names, And quotes of these 'people', And show us with evidence how they changed their stance, Yet something tells me i shouldn't hold my breath. These people are the same people that showered praise after praise when was Pep doing his thing. People who unanimously thought that Pep was the best thing to happen to the club. Now they're calling him names and questioning his achievements? Now that doesn't give a good impression about the type of fans they are.
Hahah of course there's reason to take moral high grounds! What if this Pep-less, Thiago-less Barca, A Barca thats almost completely distant from that under Pep, becomes successful?
Amen brotha!I'm 30 years old and have been a Cule before Pep even played for the B team.
Watching Pep do this hurts like when Figo left the club for Real Madrid.
I can't help but feel betrayed by a guy who I considered one of us. I held him in great esteem, maybe too high. He's out for Pep Guardiola and whatever is good for Pep Guardiola. I just thought differently.
Very much so, with some people just blindly turning to Rosell supporters in this time for the sole purpose of spiting Guardiola because he's become the new target in a transfer saga that wasn't even caused by him but rooted with problems created by none other than Sandro. Pep isn't out to get the club at all, simply looking out for his own interests at his new club in peace while Rosell and his new group of Pep-haters are busy complaining about how Pep is targeting Barcelona's staff, players, and transfers as if they are oh so innocent.
The thing I don't get most is how some could actually dare to call Pep a disloyal traitor who was always selfish and never cared about the club. A few foreign, obscure fans on the internet bringing it upon themselves to condemn a man who was born into the club, legend as a player, even more massive as a coach. A man who was at the heart of the club's greatest success and personally endured their downfalls. He poured his blood, sweat, and tears into the club and brought upon the greatest team ever seen, only for it to be torn down little by little by a business-savvy, robotic power seeker and then have his very own fans turn on him due to bitter emotions about the circumstances of his departure. Fans seriously aren't grateful for a person who is arguably the greatest thing ever to happen to the club, instead wishing him ill will at his new club because of the possible transfer of a player that Barcelona themselves drove out.
But fuck it, some fans are always looking for a target to blame and Pep is nothing but another name in this long list of scapegoats. This saga has brought upon some apeshit and fanatic reactions, but I guess it's only natural for an angry mob to search for a monster to chase.
