Lol, so if it ain't CL, it ain't top class?

Teams like Arsenal and Bolton can't defend for shit.

The only good opposition he has faced this season is Benfica and Chelsea and surprise surprise he played shit in both games.

Coincidence? I think not.

He didn't, but he did say that Rooney gets involved in the buildup more than Messi, who basically drifts out of games with some moments of brilliance, which is a load of bullshit really.

Exactly and he said Rooney is better than Messi which is super retarded.

Not a terrible argument that one. He did not play shit, but had 1/5th the impact he had in the other games against horrible teams if we are being honest. He is an amazing player, but the tendency of Mancunians to hype him at slightest conceivable opening as the best in the world really makes one sad.

He had half a horrible season last year, whereas Messi and CR were great throughout the year. Why don't they mention that, the Rooniacs?

Then he is retarded and should never speak of football again. By Royal degree.

You're clutching at straws now.. Your other remarks about United players got obliterated yesterday....

And for that reason, it's not worth a reply.

Got obliterated? By whom exactly?

By you and Meta? The most loyal United fanboys to have ever typed a sentence?

Rooney is a team player just as he is an headline player.

Rooney will do all the horse work and lay it on a plate for players like Ronaldo to take all the glory, which happened many times in Ronaldo's United years and he's happy to do this, whereas many players would not be. When Rooney is having one of his 'off' games he can still come up with a moment of brilliance and win a football match (like against Chelsea) he's the only player i can think of who can play in several positions and do them all WC, he can also do everything on a football pitch (score brilliant goals, score 30+ goals a season, pick out Xavi/Scholes long like passes, play eye of a needle passes, tackle, tracks back, is all over on a football pitch)

No player in the world is talked about by players & coaches more than Rooney and there's a reason for this, he's fantastic - When he put a transfer request in at United last season during a time, when he had a poor world cup/started off the season in bad form/didn't look fit and had problems off the pitch, every team and coach still wanted him (Madrid/Barcelona included).

Why? He's a players and coaches dream.

Disagree with so much in that post.

1. Rooney can come up with a moment of genius even when he has an off game.
Totally disagree and would say that Rooney out of all the top players in the world has games and periods where he goes totally off the boil. Far more so than the likes of Ronaldo and Messi.

2. He is the only player I can think of that can play so many positions and do them all WC
Messi is s a better striker, winger, wide player and creative midfielder than Rooney so that doesnt stack up.

3. Rooney the only player in the world who can score 30 goals a season and play eye of the needle passes.
Total bollocks, he has only once scored over thirty goals and has never done this at the same time as having a season whenhe was strong creatively.

4.No player in the world is talked about by players & coaches more than Rooney and there's a reason for this, he's fantastic
Again just not true. Players and managers come out weekly and call Messi their inspiration, the best player in the world and some say the best of all time. You may get an English pundit come out and say these things once or twice a season about Rooney. If players and coaches rate him so highly where is he in the world player of the year awards as it is them that vote. Has he ever been in the top ten?

The same argument about players being 'most complete' is a common one when people are trying to cling to a reason why a player is better than Messi. But breaking down a players characteristics means little, it is what they do on the park that counts. Using the 'more complete' theory it could be argued that Tom Huddlestone is 'more complete' than Xavi. Ridiculous.

Probably the best post I have seen on this forum. Brief, clear and absolutely correct.

The final line of argument presented here in the form of Huddlestone and Xavi is exactly what I had in mind as well, but the choice of players is simply brilliant in making the point.

Well done.
